Fundraising Posters For The Loughborough 2012 Visual Communication Degree Show

Sponsored Cycle Poster

To raise money for the degree show we organised a range of events. One such event was a 24hour sponsored bike ride. In order to receive sponsorship we needed to publicise the event to the largest crowd available to us; other students on the university campus. To do this a poster would be placed around campus in highly visible places, creating interest amongst the students. The resulting design I produced incorporated the required elements, including the date, time, event name and website, whilst maintaining a black and white design to keep our own printing costs down.

Typography Poster

Another of the fundraising events was a poster sale, selling a range artwork created by members of the course.
I submitted a typographic poster. The poster reads:

"Public Notice. Angled Helvetica with randomly highlighted letters & a distinct lack of any kerning whatsoever does not automatically equal good design! Consider the audience of your work then plan the design accordingly to acheive success.
And never ever use comic sans for serious applications such as notices or warning signs!"

about

I have a keen and wide ranging passion for design, from traditional elements such as page layout and typography to newer aspects of design, such as Graphical User Interfaces, which often overlap with my interest in technology. The little details fascinate me;
a trait which has helped shape my precise approach to design. Whilst primarily a designer, my enjoyment of creating things extends to other creative outlets such as photography and drawing.

Chris studied Graphic Communication at Loughborough University, graduating in 2012.
